As you may know, a Board of Review is the last requirement before a Scout advances in rank. This is an opportunity for the Troop to review a Scout’s progress, attitude, and acceptance of Scouting’s principles.
In an effort to give Scouts a better opportunity to set goals for rank advancement, I have set dates on the calendar each month for a scheduled board of review night. This will give Scouts a date to set for completing any outstanding requirements for their current rank. My goal is to also minimize any last-minute requests for reviews.
I have also had challenges in getting adults to help with the reviews. I need at least two adults to assist me when conducting a board of review. I hope that with this change, you can be available to volunteer to help!
Please keep this in mind. While there will be a scheduled Board of Review night, a Scout can ask for a review at any other time. He will simply need to contact me and together we will work out a date and time that will work for both the review board and the Scout.
